What you need
Have last year’s report or the implementation report and inventory, and every statement for the period. Probate Rule 17(g)(1) asks for total assets and debts at the beginning and end of the calendar year. The form asks only for the end of your reporting period, so last year’s report supplies the start. Probate Rule 17(g)(1) (opens in a new tab)
The example follows Gunnar Lindqvist, an invented protected person. His order was signed in April, so this report covers 04/01/2025 to 03/31/2026 and was due 04/30/2026.
Subtract total debts from total assets
Section F lists income and expenses as totals for the 12 months. Assets and debts are what stood on the last day. F.7 subtracts total debts from total assets to give the net estate value.
| Total assets (section 5) | $30,685.80 |
|---|---|
| Total debts (section 6) | 185.40 |
| Net estate value | $30,500.40 |
The schedules
| Social Security, $1,412.00 × 12 | $16,944.00 |
|---|---|
| Pension, $310.00 × 12 | 3,720.00 |
| Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend | 1,000.00 |
| Dividends/interest | 214.36 |
| Total annual income | $21,878.36 |
| Assisted living, $1,450.00 × 12 | 17,400.00 |
|---|---|
| Medication | 612.48 |
| Personal allowance, $50.00 × 12 | 600.00 |
| Clothing | 318.20 |
| Insurance premiums | 216.00 |
| Total annual expenses | $19,146.68 |
| Checking | 3,421.44 |
|---|---|
| Savings | 14,464.36 |
| Burial account | 6,000.00 |
| 2014 car | 6,800.00 |
| Total assets | $30,685.80 |
Section 6 holds one debt: a $185.40 clinic bill still owed on 03/31/2026. It is not an expense until it is paid.
It should reconcile within the year
The form’s instructions say the report “should reconcile within the year, as well as from year to year.” It prints no line that checks this, so do it yourself: last year’s money plus income, less expenses, is this year’s money.
| Checking, savings and burial account on 03/31/2025 | $21,154.12 |
|---|---|
| Plus total annual income | 21,878.36 |
| Less total annual expenses | 19,146.68 |
| Checking, savings and burial account on 03/31/2026 | $23,885.80 |
His conservator moved $3,000.00 from checking to savings. That is neither income nor an expense. It goes in 5.h as a transfer between accounts.
Last year’s net estate value was $28,654.12. It rose $1,846.28, not the $2,731.68 his money grew. The car lost $700.00 in value and the clinic bill is unpaid.
Statements to attach
Attach 12 months of bank statements that match the reporting period. An account whose only activity was interest needs only the latest statement. So do brokerage, retirement, life insurance and burial accounts, and a Native Corporation dividend account.
Attach receipts for any reimbursement to yourself and for any unusual accounting item.
After you file
The court reviews the report within 30 days. It sends an approval letter or a deficiency notice, which you answer on PG-360. Every third year the court may also send a visitor to review the conservatorship. AS 13.26.515(b) (opens in a new tab)
The final report
When the conservatorship ends, for any reason including the protected person’s death, file PG-230 within 90 days. It runs from the end of the last annual period to the end of your service, and lists what you released and to whom. Probate Rule 17(h) (opens in a new tab)
You are not fully discharged until the court accepts that final account after notice to all parties and a hearing.
Common mistakes
Monthly figures in section F
The form says “Must be annual amounts, not monthly.” The inventory asked for monthly amounts, so the first annual report is where this goes wrong.
Estimated figures
The form says “You may not use estimates.” Every income and expense figure should match a statement or a receipt.
A large one-time receipt left unlisted
F.1.c asks for income not expected to recur, such as an inheritance or a vehicle sale. Any cash received of $1,000 or more must be listed.
