Common mistakes

Asking to skip it

The court may give more time for good cause. It may not waive the inventory. §4-301(A), (C) (opens in a new tab)

Leaving the bond as it was

If the inventory shows more intangible property, such as accounts and securities, than the petition alleged or the court found at the hearing, file a bond for the full amount with the inventory. §4-201(C) (opens in a new tab)

Property found after filing

Return it on a sworn inventory the same way. That includes anything the ward inherits or acquires later. §4-301(B) (opens in a new tab)

Your first account

Your first report on AOC Form 34a, or AOC Form 35 for a minor, is due a year after appointment. It reports changes to the property on this inventory, and charges that have built up since you filed it. §4-303(A), (B)(1)(b), (G) (opens in a new tab)
